doing like the locals do

My parents are in Indiana this week visiting my brother. They arrived this afternoon, and after checking into their motel (my mom calls all hotels "motels" regardless of their level of luxury or status) they immediately set out to see just what kind of "uniquely Indiana" things they could experience. After some time boutique shopping at Walmart they decided to try a local eatery called Olive Garden for dinner. I think later, just so they don't miss anything, they might venture to the movie theater, Home Depot or Burger King. Some people just know how to live it up.

Wait, we have an Olive Garden around the corner from us. . . are you saying it's not an Austin original?

My whole world-view has been altered.

That is too funny. I'm like that sometimes because...haven't you noticed...Olive Garden just tastes so much more "authentic" if you eat it in a different state.

That is hilarious! I feel the same way right now...I am in AZ and my parents live in a small town (Prescott) and my favorite thing to do is go to SUPER Walmart with my mom and then sometimes we even go to the park at the Courthouse to watch the local cloggers and/or swing dancers at night. You can join us anytime....ha!

Hmmm...are you sure you aren't talking about my parents?
